I know these to be artifacts as I have a similar collection here in Essex County, All were found in two sites in drift clay deposits.Some are a bit more refined than those you show, but some are identical.The groved cut or ground for finger holds are much the same. Additionally I have found some for left-handed use.Have you had any luck in getting them authenticated? M. L.

i found crude tools in my back yard everyone thinks im nuts but i have like 8 or 9 of the same sort of tool , almost looks like a club or hammer . i would love to send a pic to ya and see what ya think

I have a quite square stone app: 3 X3 inch .definitely looks like a face has been etched on one side, with etch under eyes, like war paint. stone is gray, etch is lighter. wondering ,I have not seen any of these anywhere.
